The pyramid in downtown Tirana, Albania.  The Red Star on top of the building was the victim of the "counter revolution" when Albania tossed off communism.  While still the poorest country in Europe, it remains a favorite of mine.  I have made friends for life there!

Johanna, is one of the students in a Journalism class I taught in May of 1998.  She and many of the other students impressed me.  Indeed I think that in the three weeks I was there I made friends for life!
